I’m an advocate of having the right mindset in order to get ahead in life. That is why, my post about why the Philippines is Poor kinda summarize the whole idea (thanks for all the comments btw) that not even the holiest or the most untainted official will not be able to make you rich or kill poverty if you’re not the one pulling the strings of your life. Even the strong dependence to religion can be attributed to the misfortunes of Pinoys. Funny to say, the Philippines is the only die-hard catholic nation in Asia and also the poorest.
I kinda relate to your point about religion. I think its convenient that some people can blame the government or God for them being poor. And have the reason to say that they are happy even though they are poor (masaya kahit mahirap basta daw sama sama) yet blame the government for giving them poverty. The irony.
At the end of the day, its still ones self’s fault why he is rich or poor.
